Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ksubtitleripper
Newer versions of gocr require a different command line invocation than older ones, and KSubtitleRipper was written to use the old format. The program is unusable as a result; the program doesn't get any usable output from gocr. A patch has already been written which fixes the problem, but the versionn currently in the debian repository hasn't incorporated it. Could we file a bug against the package maintainer? Here's the patch: http://developer.berlios.de/patch/?func=detailpatch&patch_id=2068&group_id=1613 And here's the project page: http://ksubtitleripper.berlios.de/ I can confirm that the patch works with the most recent source tarball (0.3.1). I compiled it this afternoon on a fully updated Kubuntu Feisty install. There appears to be another bug which cripples the program just as thoroughly by preventing the user from entering text - see the following post in the Ubuntu forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=502143 I'm going to look into that issue, but there's no guarantee that I'll find a solution for it, since my knowledge of C++ would fit neatly on a paper napkin and I've never even touched the QT libs before. If I work out a fix, I'll submit a patch. ** Affects: ksubtitleripper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Patch required due to new gocr version https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132107 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
