In response to comment #42: there is not a lot of noise about other people having the problem
I've seen this bug on all Ubuntu installations I've used in the last two years (at least 10 computers). The problem is that it's hard to search for this bug on launchpad. Today I've spent one full hour and I've found 6 duplicates.
