Thanks for your bug report. Bug #915250 was about Onboard being hidden below Dash. Is this still a problem for you?
>From your initial description, bug #960537 seems like a better match. It's still open, unfortunately. There seems to have been some work on it, but as of today auto-show is still not reliable in Dash.
