nvidia-319-updates has been compatible with 3.11 since the
319.49-0ubuntu2 release in Saucy (and we're at 319.60-0ubuntu1 now). If
it doesn't compile, then it's probably a bug free to file a bug report
about it. It's not compatible with 3.12 though.

I've just tried to install the package in a clean environment (a Saucy
chroot) and it build against 3.11:

Building for architecture x86_64
Building initial module for 3.11.0-12-generic
Done.

nvidia_319_updates:
Running module version sanity check.

 - Installation
   - Installing to /lib/modules/3.11.0-12-generic/updates/dkms/

depmod....

DKMS: install completed.
