Bug confirmed in Saucy, on Acer Aspire S7-392. Is there work being done on this bug? It's now 3 releases old, and there has been no indication of progress for fixing it. As noted by others above, the problem seems to be an interaction with Unity.
It is probably a bad thing if Unity, a Canonical project, is interfering with Ginn, another Canonical project.
