Public bug reported: upstart 0.2.1-7 is installed.
When the system boots it waits until I press return several times. (Well I waited about 10 minutes at the prompt.) I took some notes: <Some boot messages> init: tty6 state changed from waiting to starting init: tty6 state changed from starting to running init: process_spawn: Spawned process <SOME_PID> for tty6 init: active tty6 process (<PID>) *Reading files need to boot... [OK] <some garbled characters> ne) login: [25;4R <here I have to press enter> LOGIN INCORRECT <HOSTNAME> LOGIN <I press enter> <more boot messages> * Setting up general console font... [OK] <If I press enter I get another LOGIN INCORRECT and gdm starts. When I wait a bit, it goes on without any input.> LOGIN INCORRECT <HOSTNAME> LOGIN LOGIN TIMED OUT AFTER 60 SECONDS INIT: TTY1 PROCESS (<PID>) EXITED NORMALLY INIT: TTY1 PROCESS ENDED, RESPAWNING INIT: TTY1 STATE CHANGED FROM RUNNING TO RESPAWNING INIT: TTY1 STATE CHANGED FROM RESPAWNING TO RUNNING INIT: PROCESS_SPAWN: SPAWNED PROCESS <PID> FOR TTY1 INIT: ACTIVE TTY1 PROCESS (<PID>) <Now the normal login prompt appears. I need to press enter for it to continue and start gdm.> ** Affects: upstart (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Waits for input several times https://launchpad.net/bugs/59407 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
