I do not understand why it is so difficult to fix this bug. There is not mysterious feature in the new kernel that prevents the WiFi to work.
The root cause is a minor syntactically issue in the source: 1) structure / content of the kernel header files changed 2) this makes the re-compilation of the WiFi driver fail with every new kernel (I doubt the next release candidate will be different) 3) since the compilation fails -> there is after the kernel update simply no Ralink driver included in the kernel (no mystery !) I explaind under https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-certification/+question/238136 how you can compile the Ralink driver under .55 und .56. The workaround described is of course not a permanent solution.
