One other point relating to the fedora installation on iMac with two
monitors. At boot time the login screen is always on the external
monitor. During login the kde desktop starts up and the display switches
to the internal monitor. I had previously used xrandr to force the
display to be only on the internal monitor (external off). The display
stays on the internal monitor until resume (from suspend), when the
display and desktop then switches back to the external monitor
permanently. Without two monitors it is impossible to use suspend and
resume.
