There is no screenshot actually attached. It may be that you are missing a
certain font to display properly... if this is the case, I will add it to the
dependancies, but it wont be fixed until the LTS, though you can simply install
the font. I will try to test this in Lubuntu to see if it is affected as well.
I wonder if the bug is present in the 64 bit version of Ubuntu Studio (this
uses XFCE like Xubuntu). I also wonder if this is present in the Live version.
Do you have a LiveUSB of Xubuntu 13.10 64bit? If you could boot it up and
install lmms to check that, it would be beneficial to find out where the bug is
present. I also wonder if it is present in the 32bit version. If you are
willing to do some testing, we could narrow this down (quickly I hope).
So, if you are willing to do some testing, please try a LiveUSB of Xubuntu
64bit, and Ubuntu Studio 64bit. And if you would like to test the 32bit
Xubuntu, that would also help, but I will test Lubuntu 64bit to see if it is
there.
I have Ubuntu 13.10 installed and it looks fine here, and I also use US english.
I have Lubuntu installed as well, but it is affected by Unity depends, so it
renders the text just fine.
