Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nut
according to the bcmxcp_usb man page you need to compile the driver, but does not state what is needed for the dirver to work. What dependences are needed, after doing a general search it seems that the answers are all over the place no clear input to get this dirver compiled in Fiesty. 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Thu Jun 7 19:00:28 UTC 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux INSTALLATION This driver is not built by default. You can build it by using "make usb", and install it using "make install‐usb". Note that it will also install other USB drivers. You also need to install manually the hot‐ plug files (libhidups and libhid.usermap), generally in etc/hot‐ plug/usb/, to address the permission settings problem. Lastly note that the libhidups file must have execution flag set (ie using chmod +x ...). aken from the man page, no directions under Ubuntu to get the driver installed. this is in my syslog file.
