Public bug reported:
When starting GENtle, it will display a small dialog box featuring tip
of the day. On Ubuntu it simply says "Tips not available, sorry!"
I tried with gentle 1.9+cvs20100605+dfsg1-2 on my Debian Sid system
where it worked as expected, showing various tips. I saw that the
version number in Trusty contained "-ubuntu" indicating it had been
patched. Therefore I also tried with the package in Ubuntu 12.10 which
did not have any Ubuntu-specific patches, though returned the same
result; Tips not available. So while it seems to be an Ubuntu-only
issue, it does not appear to have been introduced by the patch added to
the Ubuntu-package...
