It looks like you tried to install to sda firs,t which is partitioned
using GPT, and you aren't using EFI.  For a bios based machine to boot
from GPT, you have to create a 1 MiB bios_grub partition on it.  Could
you try to install again on one of the other drives without first trying
sda?
