Hi Raymond: Yes, that seems to be the source of the problem. I'm guessing there's some incompatibility between kernel modules, perhaps because of my use of the audio ppa. I've tried to remove the ppa, but synaptic indicates a lot depends on it. Any workarounds someone could suggest?
