This isn't about high resolutions in particular. If the keyboard layout icon isn't readable, then other icons won't be either -- for example the current battery charge, or the Wi-Fi signal strength.
The problem here is that the icons inside the menu are smaller than those in the menu title. They should be exactly the same size.
