Okay, I looked at the patch I made, but unfortunately they DIDN'T WORK (I thought it did, I was wrong).
But using libeditline still seems very possible, I'll continue trying to make it work. Meanwhile since this bug is about command line history and already fixed, this is the wrong place to discuss readline support.
