Hi Christopher. Unfortunately I can not test this issue anymore, because I got an other model from retailer because of hardware problems. I too was running Ubuntu 11.10 before upgrade to 12.04, so as Jussi Palomäki wrote, this problem seems to be related to memory controller and was revealed when using old kernel.
