Hilario, I've tested this on a dell poweredge that I have (which ostensibly does not have a synaptics touchpad) and indeed, the crash does not occur. This suggests to me that your suspicions are correct with respect to the synaptics being involved here. I'm also a bit suspicious about the sheer size of the graphic embedded in that page when you scroll. BTW, if that item has expired on ebay, follow any of the new items that look the same, they all crash the same way.
