** Description changed: One thing that would enhance the work-flow in mc, would be the feature of enabling the arrow keys as a way to navigate the tree hierarchy of the file system. An example of an ncurses applications that provides this feature is ncdu, which you can install with the following command: sudo apt-get install ncdu Then run ncdu from a directory that has sub-folders in it, with a command like this: sudo ncdu /home/ - Now use your arrow-keys (up down right left) to navigate the folder + Now use your arrow-keys (right and left) to navigate the folder hierarchy (with less steps than mc offers currently for doing the same thing). + + For example, if focus is currently on a particular folder, then hitting + the right-arrow-key would drill into that folder. Then, hitting the + left-arrow-key would go back to the parent folder. This seems like an easy thing to implement, and I know others will appreciate this feature too, if implemented.
