I may not be answering your question mario but the last time when I used nautilus, columns became re-sizeable so I thought that was enough. At least it was useable thought it might be incovenient. Nautilus has been getting worse and worse so I am using Nemo now and you are using PCManFM so forget about nautilus. It should be terminated.
