Public bug reported: I have an XPS 13 that shipped with Ubuntu 12.04.2 and the quantal LTS stack. When I upgraded to 14.04, the xrandr binary went missing.
steve@aether:~$ ls /usr/bin/xrandr* /usr/bin/xrandr.orig /usr/bin/xrandr-tool steve@aether:~$ dpkg -S /usr/bin/xrandr.orig diversion by x11-xserver-utils-lts-quantal from: /usr/bin/xrandr diversion by x11-xserver-utils-lts-quantal to: /usr/bin/xrandr.orig I have x11-xserver-utils installed, but not x11-xserver-utils-lts- quantal. I think x11-xsever-utils-lts-quantal was removed during the upgrade to 14.04 but it seems the diversion was never removed (is it missing from the postrm?). /var/log/dpkg.log snippet from the upgrade to 14.04: 2014-02-12 13:40:12 status installed x11-xserver-utils-lts-quantal:amd64 3:3 2014-02-12 13:40:12 remove x11-xserver-utils-lts-quantal:amd64 3:3 <none> 2014-02-12 13:40:12 status half-configured x11-xserver-utils-lts-quantal:amd64 3:3 2014-02-12 13:40:12 status half-installed x11-xserver-utils-lts-quantal:amd64 3:3 2014-02-12 13:40:12 status config-files x11-xserver-utils-lts-quantal:amd64 3:3 2014-02-12 13:40:12 status config-files x11-xserver-utils-lts-quantal:amd64 3:3 2014-02-12 13:40:12 status config-files x11-xserver-utils-lts-quantal:amd64 3:3 2014-02-12 13:40:12 status not-installed x11-xserver-utils-lts-quantal:amd64 <none> ** Affects: xorg-lts-transitional (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1279913 Title: xrandr missing after upgrade to trusty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-lts-transitional/+bug/1279913/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
