Public bug reported:
I have my Lxpanel (version 0.6.99.0) set with a transparent custom
coloured background (black) and custom text colour, after rebooting or
logging off and back on again, Lxpanel doesn't remember these settings.
"$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (development branch)
Release: 14.04"
