Just tested with latest 14.04 image, but it doesn't look good. 
System boots fine, but then freezes at the moment you try to open any 
applications. I managed to switch to tty1 terminal, but then it freezes after 
few seconds. 
when booted with "acpi=off" graphical environment crashes as in previous case, 
but tty is usable. 
I am attaching logs collected with ACPI disabled.
