After upgrading to 14.04, I cannot change the sound using the indicator
anymore. Changing the volume or muting output does not have any effect.

When going to sound settings, changing the output volume also has no
effect. However, changing the sound per application under the tab
"Applications" *does* work, so I can still work around it like that.

Everything worked fine in 13.10.
