This bug persists for me in Ubuntu 13.04 with: unity-greeter: 13.10.3-0ubuntu1 nvidia-319: 319.32-0ubuntu7 I have the Nvidia GTX 295. I also use an SSD like Sapsan, though I don't know if that is relevant.
