Public bug reported: Laptop: Hewlet-Packard dv6178ea
Audio: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) On Gutsy Tribe 5 (live cd or pure installation) the keyboard shortcuts by default change a channel called "headphones" not the "speakers" channel. This affects volume up/down and mute keyboard shortcuts. Specifically the volume keys of this laptop are illuminated with blue light. Normally if you pressed mute, the color of this key backlight changed from blue to orange. This also is not working on gutsy. Generally the driver seems to work, but all the convenient shortcuts are now completely useless . Remarks: On Feisty the audio worked perfectly, also the shortcuts, even the backlight! Haven't tested: Headphones, and front panel jacks. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Gutsy] keyboard sound shortcuts on ICH7 based laptop not working properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134639 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
