Public bug reported:
The python-zmq 13.0.0-2precise package in 12.04 includes libzmq 3.2.2 (note that the .so is bundled into python-zmq, this bug is about python-zmq and not the separate libzmq3 package). This version of ZMQ has a nasty bug where when large numbers of sockets are opened and closed, an assertion will hit. The symptom is that applications using python-zmq, such as SaltStack, will occasionally die suddenly with SIGABRT.
