Public bug reported:

I have tried installing both proprietary drivers in "software and
updates" and each time the driver doesn't work properly.

The bins are not in the path, and trying to run the bins gives me the
following error.

atoulan@atoulan-laptop:~$ /usr/lib/fglrx/bin/aticonfig
Unable to open /etc/ati/control, please reinstall the driver.
/usr/lib/fglrx/bin/aticonfig: No supported adapters detected

Thanks.
