I scan typed pages using lineart setting with the resolution set at 300
dpi (and I've also tried at 150 dpi). Yet after scanning when I check
edit/properties, it will report that the dpi is 72. The resultant pdf
that is saved will typically be much larger than it should be. If the
original setting for resolution was 300 dpi, then the image will be over
four times the proper size. If the initial resolution is set at 150,
then the resultant file will be just over twice the proper size. If the
initial resolution is set at 72 dpi, then the resultant file is sized
fine, but it looks terrible due to too low a resolution. So, 300 / 72 =
4.1667; 150 / 72 = 2.083; 72/72 = 1. The results for the size of the
image and subsequent saved pdf are the same even if I preset the number
in the edit/properties box. It still seems that something is defaulting
to 72 dpi, and the initial setting of scan resolution in the Scan Mode
tab of the of scan document dialogue box seems to only affect the size
relative to a default setting of 72 (what this default setting actually
represents, I don't know, since I'm just a regular user). The behaviour
is it will scan, then pause, then there's a blip and the image has a
larger boundary than it should (IE, when the resolution has been set at
higher than 72). This is different behaviour from the past. Something
is resetting in that moment where there is a blip, I believe.

I expected the scan of the page to be the same size as the paper I
scanned, that being approximately 8" by 11". Instead it was far larger.
To contrast, the program simple-scan did work. Below, here is a page
done by simple-scan at 300 dpi:

I am using an HP Scanjet 6200C. I have used this scanner with previous
versions of gscan2pdf, and have not had these problems before.
