I do not have the system available at all, when last I started from an external dvd, (12.10) the main screen remained blank, no further acces exisited, thus no way of providing any more info. Please note that in earlier posts I indicated that I tried different monitors, all to no avail as well.
Furthermore, with 3 different Linux versions tried, each presenting the same problem, (each of them installed formatting the "/" partition) I finally concluded that my new (Nov 2013) motherboard could be at fault, so I have instigated warranty service on that. I must add, that I have 2 other instances of 14.04LTS Beta2 and they are working just fine running updates and generally behaving well. My repaired motherboard wil take some time to be installed again so I cannot help anymore except reporting any problems that might prop up.
