Public bug reported: Hello,
Y580 is an optimus laptop. I have installed nvidia prime and are using binary driver 331.38. I open NVidia settings and choose to switch from Intel card to NVidia one. When I do so (and enter my password), I get an empty error message box and the display gets back to Intel card. The console prints just this: "astral@Lenovo-IdeaPad-Y580:~$ nvidia-settings ** Message: PRIME: Requires offloading ** Message: PRIME: is it supported? yes ERROR: " ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: nvidia-prime 0.6.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-24.46-generic 3.13.9 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-24-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Sat Apr 19 00:08:37 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-04-05 (13 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Daily amd64 (20140405) SourcePackage: nvidia-prime UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: nvidia-prime (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug trusty ** Attachment added: "NVidia_Prime_error.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1309773/+attachment/4088147/+files/NVidia_Prime_error.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1309773 Title: Nameless error when switching to NVidia graphics card from Nvidia settings using PRIME profiles on Lenovo IdeaPad y580 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-prime/+bug/1309773/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
