Public bug reported:

After upgrading to 14.04, the suspend option stopped working properly.
When selected, it goes back in the login screen and never enters in the
sleep mode. When I leave the system in that state, it eventually powers
off itself. I am not sure which package causes this, but I suspect acpid
is a factor. The launchpad ethics discourage against speculation, but I
had to choose a package, sorry! :)

Release info:

Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Release: 14.04

I am also attaching outputs for:

- dmidecode
- lscpu
- lshw
- uname -a

Thanks for your help!
