I am also affected running xfce under Ubuntu 14.04. $ apt-cache policy network-manager network-manager: Installed: 0.9.8.8-0ubuntu7
I have no methods to get it back. When looking at the settings of the "notification area" plugin on panel 1 in XFCE the Network Manager Applet appears to be running but does not show. Toggling Hidden/Not Hidden has no affect. ** Attachment added: "Picture of Notification area settings." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/1301158/+attachment/4091490/+files/notification_area.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1301158 Title: nm-applet icon invisible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/1301158/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
