Hi,
Thanks for your bug report!
It's currently not possible to remove ibus from Ubuntu. Is fcitx
selected in the IM framework selector in System Settings -> Language
Support? If it is, why would it make a difference if ibus was removed?
There is another similar report; marking this one as a duplicate.
