Public bug reported:

We're using 14.04 with gnome-shell on 2 laptops and 2 pcs. Gnome-shell
occasionally crashes - or we need to reset the shell when undocking the laptop
as some gnome-shell extensions don't recognize the new resolution. Whenever
this occurs, the keyboard layout is initialized (to UK) and has to reconfigured
(to swiss german in our case).

There is another system with gnome-shell 3.12 (from ppa) on 14.04. It
shows the same effect.

Regards, dsto
