Public bug reported: Today's Ubuntu 12.04 Server 64-bit Kernel Upgraded (from 3.5.0-48-generic to 3.5.0-49-generic) made Sabrent USB-G1000 network card nonfunctional.
Before the upgrade, this is the kernel I was running: 3.5.0-48-generic Today, ubuntu server suggested updating to kernel 3.5.0-49. After this, this network card no longer functioned: Sabrent USB-G1000: USB 2.0 TO GIGABIT 10/100/1000 ETHERNET ADAPTER NETWORK RJ-45 CONVERTER Link: http://www.sabrent.com/category/networking/USB-G1000/ I held down the "shift" key while the server was booting, and I was able to get the network card functioning again by booting from the previous 3.5.0-47-generic kernel. For some reason, at that time it though 48 was the one I had upgraded to, but later I realized it was actually 49.
