sorry - forgot... Currently installed libccid version in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS: 1.4.15-1 <--- still buggy....
I can confirm, that if to downgrade onto 1.4.2-2 then this smartcard reader will work under Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. So - you can look inside that old 1.4.2-2 version and bring back the working state of libccid also for newer Ubuntu releases.
