In windows the jack is detected, so yes, it is supported. I don't have anything at line in. The rear out is connected to speakers, but the rear in is empty. I don't understand your point. Anyway in sound settings dialog ALL inputs are ALWAYS marked as unplugged regardless of what is connected to them. I don't need auto detection that much, but I need it to remember preferences. If somebody could propose a workaround to make front mic a default and to save its volume between reboots that will solve my problem.
