I agree that there need to be more php5 extensions available. It's worth pointing out, however, that some of these extensions are statically- compiled into the main php5 packages.
Would it be useful to start a wiki page on *all* the extensions that are shipped with the PHP 5 source, and make a table of which ones are part of the main package, which ones are in their own package, and which ones aren't built at all?
