I've seen the bug just once, since upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04. I have a
4-core CPU and HUD was consuming 100% of one of the cores; after a while
it switched to consuming 100% of a different core. I noticed it because
the fan started running quite fast, intermittently. After restarting
Ubuntu the issue has not recurred. However when/if it happens, I do
consider it critical. A user on a single-core machine would have a
tough time debugging the problem with the CPU at 100%. I'm not
exactly a Ubuntu geek but if someone wants to instruct me how to capture
useful debug info, I could print it out and leave it next to the
computer in case it happens again.
