Public bug reported:

Added in lines (as it wasn't included in)
"#Canon PIXMA MG3500 Series
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04a9", ATTRS{idProduct}=="176e", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes""
To enable Canon PIXMA MG3570 scanner as GIMP, XSane, and Simple Scan was unable
to detect scanner despite installing drivers from Canon website. The command
"sane-find-scanner" detects scanner but "scanimage -L" does not detect it.
After adding in the above lines, GIMP was able to detect the scanner using the
Canon installed "ScanGear MP" software, although XSane and Simple Scan was
still unable to detect it as normal user or with sudo.
