I agree with Pierre. Open folder as root is incredibley useful. I do not really see this as a serious security issue either, since you do have to supply the root password, so you should know what you are doing.
If safety is an issue then maybe add a warning that this means anything can be done from within that folder...but I think most people know that anyway. Guess you could also 'disconnect' as root after the default 10 minutes inactivity. Yes I too think this should be re-enabled. It makes system maintenance a whole lot easier, especially as Lubuntu is still missing GUI's for some pretty basic setup (eg change workgroup name). <FWIW> Paul -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1290101 Title: pcmanfm lost option to open current folder as root To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pcmanfm/+bug/1290101/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
