Public bug reported: When using Unetbootin to create a bootable flash drive and then using that flash drive to install a new system, causes the newly installed Ubuntu 13.10 or 14.04 to crash with a kernel panic.
How to repeat: * Install unetbooting v 565-3 * Download any Ubuntu 14.04 or 13.01 ISO * Use Unetbootin to make a bootable flash drive * Boot a system with the flash drive * Choose to make a fresh installation on the system * On completion reboot the system. The system doesn't start, but gives a kernel panic message. When the same system is installed from the same flash drive, but the ISO was copied to the flash drive with Ubuntu "Startup Disk Creator", the resulting system boots fine and the problem does not occur. ** Affects: unetbootin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: - When uisng Unetbootin to create a bootable flash drive and then using + When using Unetbootin to create a bootable flash drive and then using that flash drive to install a new system, causes the newly installed Ubuntu 13.10 or 14.04 to crash with a kernel panic.
