To work-around this issue and still use Network Manager instead of the
OpenVPN CLI, follow these steps:

1. Locate an installation of an older version of Ubuntu prior to 14.04 (set up
a VM if necessary)
2. Import your saved VPN connection on that system
3. Find the imported Network Manager configuration file in this directory:

/etc/NetworkManager/system-connections

4. Copy that file to the same directory on the 14.04 system. Make sure
to set permissions to root:root 600, and edit the paths to your
certs/key files to taste. You may need to log off or restart to get
Network Manager to pick up the new config.
