This bug also affects me, though it's behaviour is slightly different. After a period Kupfer stops responding to some k/b input. As above, Kupfter is invoked correctly and continues to respond to arrow keys and the esc key. However, in my instance it stops responding to other k/b input, eg. typing the name of a program.
Exiting Kupfer (using mouse input) and restarting resumes normal operation for a while before the bug reappears.
