@dr Gutenprint drivers are not CUPS drivers. In fact, that's part of what is wrong with many systems that have gutenprint installed--they insist on pretending that Gutenprint is just an oddly named CUPS PPD.
I would argue in fact that the reason we have problems like this is that we can't just say "Hey Mr. Configuration tool, talk to the thingy with the hardware ID <blargh!>" I'd have a working printer (again) by now if I could do that. Problems like this (which I cannot just fix myself) are really starting to make me hate ubuntu with a passion only rivaled by my dislike of PERCRaid controllers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1256832 Title: Canon Selphy CP510 not recognised by CUPS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1256832/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
