Both boot-options removes the freeze at first, and I get to the
next installation stage with the graphical splash,  where the
installation hangs at "mounting live-user" or similar.

The first boot-option produces the output at tty0:
cannot allocate region 3 of device 0000:00:00.0

and the second boot-option produces:
MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC
cannot allocate region 3 of device 0000:00:00.0
