I think my problem was actually a hardware issue. I opened the mouse up (which is a Razer Copperhead) and sprayed some WD40 on to the switches, and after that the problem has gone away. So Eugen I would recommend you try that, as well as any other users having the same problem. It was pretty easy to do.
