I still can't get this to work in my current installation of Lubuntu 14.04:I've set all available updates to be displayed immediately,added update-notifier to start up applications,and yet no notifications are ever visible. So far,the only way to find updates has been to manually launch the update manager or do sudo apt-get upgrade,neither of which is very convenient.
