Agreed, so synaptic shouldn't tell me it applied all changes
successfully, but it does. The miniterminal shows that some things did
fail. This is definately a bug.

Fair enough. It's my choice to not mount /boot automatically and perhaps
that is just silly of me and I shouldn't expect synaptic to check for
this. I do expect it to tell me when something failed.

Please reopen.
