Same bug still in 14.04 LTS.. I installed ubuntu 13.10 on a brand new
laptop, and, silly me, I checked the LVM option.

Now, when trying to install 14.04 on top of 13.10 (I did an online "live
upgrade" from 13.10 to 14.04 but it broke my installation), the only
option I have, is to wipe out the entire disk.

.. that is because the 14.04 installer does not recognize LVM .. it says
that my laptop "has no detected OS"..!

Maybe the best option would be to remove the LVM possibility completely
from the installer .. or give adequate warnings, like "choosing this
option makes upgrading to a new ubuntu version impossible".
